Kaal Sarp Dosh has been of great importance in Vedic astrology since ancient times. This is a position of planets arranged in the horoscope which is considered to be a symbol of problems and challenges in the life of the native. According to astrology, when all the planets in the horoscope of a native are located between the planets Rahu and Ketu, then this situation is considered to be the position of Kaal Sarp Dosh. It is also an important dosha in person's kundli which unbalance the life like Navgrah dosha.

It is called this Dosh because in the way the "black snake" which is a symbol of difficulties and growth in life, in the same way, difficulties and problems arise in life when it is present.

Formation of Kaal Sarp Dosha:

When all the planets Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn come between Rahu and Ketu, then it is formed. This position of the planets only creates a structure in which Rahu is in the form of head and Ketu in the form of tail. If any planet is outside this structure, then Kalsarp Dosh does not have an effect.

It  is divided into 12 parts based on the position of Rahu and Ketu in different houses of the birth chart.

Anant Kalsarp : This dosh is formed when Rahu is located in the first house of the horoscope and Ketu in the seventh house. This condition affects the personal life of a person as well as his health and relationships.

Kulik Kalsarp Dosh: This condition is formed when Rahu is in the second house of the horoscope and Ketu is located in the eighth house. In this situation, disputes arise in the financial condition and family relationships of the person.

Vasuki Kalsarp Dosh: In the case of Vasuki Dosh, Rahu is present in the third house and Ketu is present in the ninth house. Due to this condition, the brother and sister have to face problems. Even after working hard, the person is not able to succeed.

Shankhpal : The presence of Rahu in the fourth house of the horoscope and Ketu in the tenth house creates Shankhpal Kaal Sarp Dosh. In such a situation, one has to face problems in home comforts and career.

Padma Kaal : When Rahu is present in the fifth house and Ketu is in the eleventh house, then this dosh is formed in such a situation and it also creates problems related to children's education and social problems.

Takshak Kaal Sarp Dosh: Rahu present in the seventh house and Ketu present in the first house create Takshak dosha. It creates problems in the native's married life, partnership and personal efforts.

Karkotak Kaal Sarp : Rahu in the eighth house and Ketu in the second house create this Dosh, which creates problems related to inheritance, secrets and financial stability.

Shankhachud : When Rahu is present in the ninth house of the haoroscope and Ketu in the third house, then this situation affects the destiny, spirituality and confidence of the person.

Ghaatak dosha: This position of Ketu in the fourth house of the horoscope and Rahu in the tenth house creates problems in the career of the person. It reduces the honor and happiness of the native.

Vishdhar Kaal Sarp : If Rahu is in the 11th house of the horoscope and Ketu is in the fifth house, then this situation creates it. In this situation, the native's social harmony, benefits and children create challenges.

Sheshnag : In this dosha, Rahu is in the 12th house and Ketu in the sixth house. In such a situation, a person spends uselessly, has health related problems, and faces problems in any kind of work related to foreign countries, business or travel.
